Program Fee

Hong Kong students: HK$5,400 (Includes 2-night camp at HKU student residence)

Mainland & International students: HK$8,800 (Includes shared-room accommodation in HKU residential hall)

Limited places are available for Hong Kong students to apply on a competitive basis. Applicants whose family is not residing in Hong Kong has the priority in applying for the residential option.

The program fee includes tuition, learning materials, costs of fieldtrip and social events, and a certificate of achievement. Participants are responsible for their own meals and transportation. A HK$1,000 discount is available for returning CSE students to Hong Kong Program.

Notification must be made in writing in the case of withdrawal from the program. Full refunds will be granted only if written notification is received on or before June 11, 2010. CSE Program Office reserves the right to cancel the program at its discretion. In the unlikely event of program changes, CSE Program Office will not be responsible for any planning costs incurred.

Eligibility

A CSE 2010 candidate should be a student of F.4 to F.7 (or at equivalent level) in September 2010 or between the ages of 14 and 18 and should fit the following criteria:

  • Possess good English listening and speaking skills;
  • Be willing to participate actively in group discussions; and
  • able to think critically and express his/her views.

Non-Hong Kong students must obtain a valid student visa for attending the program. Assistance in submitting visa application will be available from the University of Hong Kong. Instructions will be provided upon acceptance.

Attend mandatory in-person interview (for applicants attending schools in Hong Kong)
Interviews will be held on April 1 & 7, 2010 in Hong Kong / May 14 íV 16, 2010 in Beijing and applicants will be notified of the arrangement via email individually. Applicants who are unable to attend the in-person interview will be contacted for a phone interview.

3.Successful applicants will be notified via email. Proof of program fee payment and completed consent form are to be submitted to the address by the designated deadlines to confirm acceptance. Please refer to "Important Dates" for the deadlines.

* Hong Kong applicants are encouraged to apply before March 19 as the interviews will be scheduled during the school holidays on April 1 & 7 at HKU. Late applicants may be invited to attend interviews tenatively scheduled for mid-May in Hong Kong.
